Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Matthew 5:16
The verse is so common - the connection between the works and the deeds we do and what they are supposed to spark in those around us - inspirarion.
They should see what we do and glorify our Father - yet we stay back in false humillity. David understood the true assignment.
"that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!" Say sing your praise and not be silent."
Psalm 30:12
That OUR glory should sing HIS praise and not be silent. But we allow fear and false humility to hold us back.
Jesus still warns the church:
"Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent." Revelation 2:5
He gave us His light and the lampstand to shine for him. Not holding back, not afraid, not saying what if - but to the best of the ability he gave each one of us.
So let your light shine - for His glory.
